About Us

Preserving the River of Tradition

One River Tai Chi is dedicated to transmitting authentic Tai Chi as a method of cultivation—not just an activity. We honor the lineage while making it accessible to modern practitioners worldwide.

Our Mission

To preserve and transmit traditional Tai Chi through structured, accessible programs that maintain the integrity of the practice while adapting to the needs of contemporary life. We believe that authentic Tai Chi offers profound benefits for physical health, mental clarity, and personal transformation.

Authenticity

We preserve Tai Chi as it was traditionally taught—precise, slow, and internally coherent.

Community

Building a global community of practitioners committed to genuine cultivation.

Education

Structured learning paths that respect the depth and complexity of traditional practice.

Accessibility

Making authentic Tai Chi available to everyone, regardless of location or background.

Our Founder

Master Hongtao

"The river flows because it is fed upstream. Each generation is responsible for passing it on intact. We did not make the river—it is our heritage, our responsibility to preserve, and our privilege to share."

Master Hongtao has over 30 years of Tai Chi practice and decades of global teaching experience. He led a ten-year traditional residential retreat and applies Tai Chi for self-regulation and self-transformation, training teachers, guiding teams, and helping leaders recognize subtle workplace dynamics early.

One River Tai Chi preserves Tai Chi as a method of cultivation, not an activity. It is taught as it was intended: precise, slow, corrective, and internally coherent— transmitted through a living lineage where correctness matters.
